Peter Lauria writes on The Daily Beast today about an intimidating message Sumner Redstone left on his voicemail. According to Lauria, Redstone demanded to know who within his empire gave Lauria — a former media reporter at the Post — a story about how Redstone’s aggressive marketing of a girl-group called the Electric Barbarellas. In Lauria’s initial story, he said Redstone was pushing a Barbarella-centric reality show on MTV.

In the about three minute message Mr. Redstone says:

You will be thoroughly protected. We’re not going to hurt this guy. We just want to sit him down and find out why he did what he did. You will not in any way be revealed. You will be well-rewarded and well-protected.

Sources told Lauria that both the show and the band were no good. Redstone, on the other hand, told Mr. Lauria in a post-voicemail interview Monday that he was told the “band is revolutionary.” We’re just curious: does Duran Duran know about this band? And what do they think?
