Ashe Play Running Late, and It's Gonna Get Crowded Tonight

We’ve seen this time, and time again here at Ashe: You put Novak Djokovic on the court in the afternoon and he’ll play a 3 or 4-hour match and the rest of the schedule gets messed up.

Get ready, folks, it’s gonna be a late night! Djokovic is playing a surprisingly difficult 5-set first round match on Ashe right now. He’s up a break in the fifth, and should be able to close it out soon, but then we’ve got to get the Maria Sharapova-Jarmila Groth match on Ashe, which means Nadal’s featured night match probably will be an hour late and start at around 8pm. Caroline Wozniacki may not start till 10:30. USTA officials may be forced to put the Wozniacki match on Armstrong if the Sharapova or Nadal matches somehow go long.

It’s gonna get backed up out there, and we’ll see this scene (photo above) outside Ashe as day session ticket holders stream out and night session ticket holders wait and wait.
