Word out of the Anna Little for Congress camp is that CNN’s Soledad O’Brien is headed to New Jersey Monday to cover the 6th District congressional race.
O’Brien is set to interview Little at 10:30 a.m. and according to an email blast to supporters, Little’s camp is hoping to show O’Brien that “Anna’s Army is everywhere.”
“CNN will be interviewing and walking with Anna in Ocean Grove so as we fan out into the town there will be no spot where the cameras won’t pick up one of our Army,” Little’s camp said in an email release.
O’Brien is apparently also set to interview Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone in the afternoon.
The 6th District race is considered by many to be non-competitive, mostly by virtue of Little’s fundraising problems. Her last filing showed just over $16,000 raised, while Pallone has more than $4 million on hand.
But Little supporters say their candidate has picked up her fundraising and her grassroots effort, which includes the endorsement of the Tea Party, will be enough to overcome Pallone.
Pallone, who is considered by many to be the most powerful member of the New Jersey House delegation is a 22-year member of Congress. He chairs the Subcommittee on Health of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
