Jeremy Chardy v. Ernests Gulbis, 11am, Court 13: These could be two Top 10 players in a few years, so a chance to say you saw them when.
Mardy Fish v. Jan Jajek, early afternoon, Grandstand: Considering Fish’s success this summer, it’s surprising that he’s been relegated to the Grandstand, but catch him and his lean frame!
Na Li v. Kateryna Bondarenko, early afternoon, Armstrong: This could be a fun one. Bondarenko made it all the way to the Quarters here last year, and Na Li is a feisty 28-year-old who always makes some moves in the first round of a Grand Slam.
James Blake v. Kristof Vliegen, midafternoon, Grandstand: This one follows up the Fish match. Blake doesn’t have a lot left in the tank, and he probably doesn’t have many Opens left to play. Even if he’s been mostly a disappointment here, you might as well catch him until he finally hangs it up.
Coco Vandeweghe v. Sabine Lisicki, early evening, Grandstand: It’s gonna be all about Coco! If she can win a few matches, the 18-year-old American woman (born in New York) can become the Oudin of ’10.
