Davis says county chair vote sewn up

Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis said Tuesday he has the support of 13 of the state’s 21 Republican county chairmen in his bid to replace Sen. Kevin O’Toole as the chair of chairs.

O’Toole announced this week he would step down next month when his two-year term is up.

“I look forward to serving the other chairmen in this new role to grow our party,” said Davis.  “We achieved a great victory last year with the election of Governor Chris Christie and Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.  Now is the time for our party to build on that accomplishment.”

According to a release from Davis he is backed by chairmen from across the state.  O’Toole, who is said to support Warren County Chairman Doug Steinhardt, is not among them
