Gillibrand Raises In Upstate Senate Race

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is lending a hand to Joanne Yepsen, the Democratic Saratoga Springs supervisor who is trying to unseat Republican state Senator Roy McDonald.

A reader sent over an invite–sent out by the Senate Dems–to a fundraiser that Gillibrand is headlining on Saturday in Saratoga Springs. The seat, which falls within the boundaries of Gillibrand’s old district when she was in the House, was held by former Republican Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno until he retired in 2008.

As of the filing last month, the Democrats were running ahead here in the money race: Yepsen reported $61,605 on hand to McDonald’s $44,529.
