– Will Balliett, president at Thames & Hudson and author and editor of several books, among them a Mets fan’s almanac and an anthology of matrimonial advice from Flaubert and other romantic souls (as if Madame Bovary weren’t clear enough), has purchased an apartment at 600 West 111th Street, close to Riverside Park. Mr. Balliett, whose father, Whitney, covered jazz for The New Yorker for some 40 years, paid $1,254,993.13 for the generous, high-ceilinged space.
– John Gans and wife Irina (nee Tolstoy) have sold their home at 941 Park Avenue, one of the Upper East Side’s most expensive buildings and the former stomping ground of Lloyd Blankfein, to Brian Fisher, about whom Google sheds no light. Mr. Fisher paid $5.25 million for the apartment, which comes with herringbone floors and two maid’s rooms.
