Performance artist and writer Mike Albo’s reign as the Thursday Styles Critical Shopper columnist with the Times was a popular one, but after the (seemingly annual) JetBlue junket scandal, Mr. Albo lost his contract at the Times. But he is returning his tart shopping analysis to that super fancy TV channel, Plum TV.
Mr. Albo has a new television show that actually premiered on Friday night (we don’t have Plum TV on our cable package since we don’t have a house in Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket, unfortunately). The show’s name is What’s in Store with Mike Albo
Per the press release:
What’s in Store with Mike Albo delivers 30 minutes of socio-shopping critique across some of the most interesting shopping neighborhoods across America. Fashion and design writer Mike Albo leads viewers on an insider tour of unique stores, boutiques, and concept shops to check out what’s being sold, how it’s being sold, and if it’s really worth it. Mike’s entertaining, informative, and humorous style makes for a fun and accessible journey for curious and discerning shoppers. What’s in Store with Mike Albo premiered Friday August 13th at 7:30PM.
If we do manage to somehow get Plum TV in the future, we’ll be watching “What’s in Store,” especially since the Plum TV folks were smart enough to give Bob Balaban a show, which Rebecca Dana very memorably wrote about in 2006.
