“Leading betting organisation Paddy Power have today slashed the odds from 5/4 to 4/11 on Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice replacing Andrew Cuomo as New York State Attorney General in the November elections,” reads the release. “Over the past 24 hours several wagers of €100 (US$130) have been placed in support of the Nassau County DA which forced the bookie to cut her odds into 4/11.”
Just behind Rice, bookmakers say, is Eric Schneiderman, who is given 7-2 odds, followed by Eric Dinallo at 8-1, Richard Brodsky at 10-1, and Sean Coffey at 12-1.
These online betting sites became all the rage in politics in 2008, and some thought they did a better job of predicting election results than polls.
For what it’s worth Rice claims Irish heritage, so that could skew the results here perhaps. Then again, so does Coffey.
