Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Rachel Ray will be among the prominent New Yorkers to star in the newest iteration of the ‘I Love New York’ commercials, the state announced today. The ads are aimed at increasing tourism, a goal that’s more important than ever in light of the state’s flagging economy.
“Just like a generation ago when Frank Sinatra and other stars appeared in the now legendary I LOVE NEW YORK commercials that forever changed the way states market tourism, New York’s tourism industry is again at a defining moment,” said Empire State Development Chairman & CEO Dennis M. Mullen said via a press release.
The ads will be directed by Bob Giraldi, who is best known for directing the music video for Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.”
The first of the ads can be seen below. It features Alec Baldwin frolicking through Lincoln Center.
