Suarez on the chopping block

Running for election to a second, four-year term in 2007, Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez squeaked out a re-election victory over Republican challenger Robert W. Avery – 1,279 to 1,175 votes.

That was before feds indicted him on corruption charges in 2009. Today, just over a year earlier than the regularly scheduled election, Suarez faces the voters in a recall election.
