Statehouse sources say state Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono (D-Metuchen) today may move on securing subpoena power for the Legislative Oversight Committee to determine the circumstances of Gov. Chris Christie’s firing of former state Department of Education Commissioner Bret Schundler.
Buono tried to go live with this a week ago but was stymied when she couldn’t summon the votes in her caucus. Earlier this week, staff tipped Senate Democrats to a narrower version of Buono’s original subpoena resolution.
