President Barack Obama yesterday appointed Governor Chris Christie to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN), and the governor responded to the appointment this morning with a statement.
“It is an honor to be named by the President to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations,” said Christie. “New Jersey in many ways is considered the gateway to international trade. As a member of the Advisory Committee, I look forward to sharing New Jersey’s experiences while working to ensure that national policies enhance and improve trade opportunities for New Jersey and throughout the country.”
According to the Christie administration, the Advisory Committee provides policy advice on trade issues of overall national interest and consists of members who serve two-year terms.
