It’s that time again.  We at PolitickerNJ are readying our 2010 Power List – our vision of the 100 most influential people in New Jersey politics.

With a new administration in place, new leadership in both the assembly and the senate and new players ascending the ranks, this year promises to showcase some fresh faces.  But if you’re looking for some familiar names, you won’t be disappointed.  This is New Jersey after all and people with power usually don’t give it up unless there is a U.S. Attorney or a funeral director involved.  And even then some refuse to let go.

In keeping with the new leadership here at PolitickerNJ, this year we are going to try something different.  This year, we want your help. We want to hear your nominations for the most powerful name in New Jersey politics.

While we can’t promise your nomination will appear on the list, we can promise this:  The name that gets the most nominations WILL appear somewhere between number 1 and number 100.

Be creative.

Names can be sent by email to powerlist@politickerNJ.com .  If you’re uncomfortable sending them by email you can also leave them in the comment field of this post.  We’ll check back periodically.

The rules are the same.  No sitting elected officials, no past governors and no members of the judiciary.

For the next few months, we’ll be trolling the ranks of policy makers, party leaders, fundraisers, lobbyists, labor unions, businesses, and trade associations to bring you the New Jerseyans with the most political clout.

So send in your nominations.  And though stuffing the ballot box is a political tradition, please, keep your nominations to one vote per person.  Duplicate nominations will be thrown out.

We look forward to hearing from you.  Let the nominations commence.
