The Countess Louise J. Esterhazy gave an exit interview to The Daily about her last column in W.
The magazine asked Ms. Esterhazy (the cutting, society-minded alter ego of W founder John Fairchild) how she felt when Stefano Tonchi told her there wouldn’t be room for her backpage column in the magazine. “It’s always the Latins that get you!” she said. “Did I ever tell you what that vicious little Valentino said to me in Venice? Come una pera. That I was pear-shaped! Can you even imagine? I asked him if I was a bosc or an Anjou!”
