Publishing powerhouse Barack Obama will release a new book with Knopf’s children’s imprint on November 16h, the company is expected to announce today.
Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters will celebrate the lives of 13 Americans, among them George Washington, Jackie Robinson and Georgia O’Keeffe. The 40-page book was completed before Obama became president and was illustrated by Loren Long of The Little Engine That Could fame.
The book is part of a three-book deal with Random House, Knopf’s parent company, that was inked in 2004. With this and The Audacity of Hope, the president has one more to go. Last year, President Obama made $5.5 million, mostly from book sales.
This new book is not expected to be released on Kindle, the AP literally reports.
