Former Jersey City Councilman Mariano Vega pleaded today to accepting bribes from Solomon Dwek, according to a report in the Jersey Journal.
Vega resigned yesterday from the city council and this morning appeared in the federal courtroom of Judge Jose Linhares.
The 60-year old Vega admitted taking $20,000 in exchange for helping real estate developer turned government informant Dwek secure approvals for development on Garfield Avenue, according to the Journal.
