Resma Saujani is out with an endorsement today from hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons, who the campaign touts is a “Queens native.”
“Reshma is exactly the type of person we need to send to Washington right now,” Simmons says in the release “It’s refreshing to have a politician who speaks her mind and advocates for what she believe is right — no matter the political consequences. We need people who will give voice to underrepresented communities in New York City, and I have all the confidence in the world that Reshma will be that voice.”
It’s unclear exactly how many voters Simmons is expected to move on the Upper East Side…
