Next Week’s Best Party:  Pace’s 50th Anniversary fete, Sept. 16, a five-gallery extravaganza that will close down Chelsea streets with a block party.

Winner of the Week:  Pipilotti Rist, whose vivid, giddy show at Luring Augustine is winning the kind of raves usually reserved for artists already in art history texts.

Loser of the Week:  London art-goers, who saw Charles Saatchi’s plans to open a London Museum of Contemporary Art starring his own collection run aground.

Most Unfortunate Show (sadly, a lot of competition for that this fall):  It’s Dale Chihuly at Marlborough, also opening Sept. 16. Isn’t there a casino this stuff is supposed to be in?
