The Latest Hearsay About Tina Brown and Newsweek

Except for Tina Brown — who told us last week that she is not interested in editing Newsweek — nobody is talking (still). But the newest rumor is that Barry Diller and Sidney Harman are going to collaborate in some way to combine Newsweek digital and The Daily Beast. Keith Kelly heard that Mssrs. Diller and Harman were spotted having drinks in Georgetown. A collaboration between the two would definitely be interesting. But, that said, Newsweek‘s potential online is one of the best things it has going for it, so it’s hard to think of a reason why Mr. Harman would want to let anybody else take a share of that.

As far as a new editor for a magazine is concerned, Memo Pad reports today that New York editor Adam Moss turned the job down. Not surprising at all.
