With the latest poll showing Republican Scott Sipprelle down just 5 points to Rush Holt, will the 12th District race join the 3rd District as a must watch on the national stage?
The poll, conducted earlier this week by the Monmouth University Polling Institute shows Sipprelle just outside the margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 points. With just three weeks to go that is much closer than many pundits predicted.
A poll conducted by Monmouth late last month showed Republican Jon Runyan down 3 points to incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. John Adler. That race has been called a toss-up by several national pundits and has been considered the only truly competitive race in New Jersey.
That may not be true after today.
