Gallerist, photographer and publisher Alfred Stieglitz has taken Manhattan! Though he died in 1946, there’s currently a retrospective of his elegant photos of New York on view at the South Street Seaport museum, and another planned at the Met for November. Skira Rizzoli has published a book of his photographs timed to coincide with the Seaport exhibit—a crisp view into life in turn of the century Manhattan.
