If you found yourself nostalgic for Bryant Park during this year’s Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, the Post today points us to a nice souvenir that you can buy to remind yourself of summer afternoons passed on the gravel. Apparently, you can buy the chairs that border the park.
For just $125, you can own one of the uncomfortable green metal things, which, as far as we can tell, are designed to discourage loiterers. To be clear: these aren’t new chairs. As the Bryant Park shopping site says, “Every chair is authentic, guaranteed to have been in the park for at least one year, and will bear distinctive wear patterns created by patron use and weather conditions,” and plus they have to replace them pretty regularly anyway.
It’s obvious that these chairs would only appeal to people who have had certain, particular New York experiences. Watching James Wood hold a tambourine jam sesh.
