Castner named lawyer for Dems redistricting effort

The legal teams appear to be taking shape up for each side of the ten member redistricting effort,  which will redraw the legislative map of the state in time for next year’s legislative free-for-all when all 120 seats in both houses are up for election.

Bill Castner, who was chief counsel to former Gov. Jon Corzine, will be leaving the Gibbons law firm to accept the position of counsel to the Democratic redistricting team.  Paul Smith from the Washington D.C. law firm Jenner & Block and Angelo Genova of Genova Burns are also expected to be part of the Democratic legal team.

On the Republican side, the legal team is expected to be comprised of Glenn Paulsen of Capehart Scatchard, Mark Sheridan of Drinker Biddle, and Ben Ginsberg from the D.C. firm Patton Boggs. Ginbsberg was formerly counsel to the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign.
