Send Furry Toys Tours your favorite furry toy (and one hundred euros). In return, you’ll get photos of the toy sitting—or, should we say, “stuffing”?—in front of Paris’s best-known tourist destinations.
The French company was founded by a former investment banker named Denis Gerber. Gerber, who was inspired by the traveling-gnome sequence in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s 2001 film, Amélie, puts his all into the project: he’ll send you a week’s worth of daily updates (via email), a USB drive with dozens of photos, a traveling certificate and some small souvenir of your stuffed animal’s tour of a city that many of us can no longer afford to visit. Romantic dinners for two aren’t too much more expensive—and if you’re willing to spend a bit more, Gerber will also send your toy on one of four “extension” tours, dedicated to art, fashion, history and (somewhat randomly) The Da Vinci Code.
