No big newsflash given his observable energies over recent months, but Dr. Felix Roque confirmed today that he will challenge West New York Mayor Silverio “Sal” Vega in next year’s May nonpartisan election.
“Absolutely,” said Roque, who failed last year to secure a recall election against Vega. “I have to run. I have to get this clown out of here. If I don’t get him out of here, this town is going to collapse.”
Roque said he plans a formal launch 51 days prior to the election.
“I’m hoping to make a difference,” said the challenger, who last month reported $23,000 in the bank. “We have to start from scratch.”
