Anderson Cooper is getting ready to be on a first-name basis with with daytime television. Media Decoder reports that Warner Brothers has anointed America’s favorite silver-maned anchor’s talk show “Anderson.” It will begin next fall.
The release of the official name came with a list of 40 stations that have already signed up to run the syndicated show in Oprah’s spot, as “The Oprah Winfrey Show” is set to air its last episodes September 2011. The launch will not affect production of Cooper’s nightly cable news show, “Anderson Cooper 360.”
The real question here is whether housewives and other daytime talk devotees will warm to Cooper’s charm. If his ratings over at CNN are any indication, he could be in some trouble.
