To be honest with you, President Obama, we’re really not sure how to feel, politically, about your tax cut compromise with the Republicans. But we do know it’s progress! And for that we salute you.

John Boehner called the agreement “encouraging,” while House Democrat Chris Van Hollen said, “The House Democrats have not signed off on any deal.” Faint praise and light damning: the mark of a good compromise.
