Council President Keith Kazmark is mulling a run for mayor of Woodland Park to succeed Freeholder/Mayor Pat Lepore, whose term ends next year.

Lepore said during his run for re-election to the freeholder board that he did not intend to seek re-election at the local level.

That leaves an opening for Kazmark.

“I am seriously considering running for it and will be making a decision after the first of the year,” he told PolitickerNJ.com.

Elected to the council at 23, Kazmark served nine years before announcing that he will not run again for his seat this year. His term ends on Dec. 31st. The municipal clerk in Elmwood Park, he ran unsuccessfully for county clerk in 2009.
