The local chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans are out with the invitation for their annual Holiday Party, and among the attendees at this year’s event is none other than former RNC chair Ken Mehlman.
Mehlman, who ran George Bush’s 2004 re-election effort, had for years batted back rumors that he was gay, until finally coming out in August of this year. As far as I know this is his first LGBT-identified public event since then.
Mehlman lives in Chelsea.
The event is also honoring the work of Brian Ellner of the Human Rights Campaign and Ron Zacchi of Marriage Equality New York.
Marriage Equality failed in New York last year when Republicans voted en masse against it.
The event will take place this Friday at the Metropolitan Republican Club.
But the real question remains: How will it stack up to Homocon?
