State Sen. Joe Kyrillos (R-Middletown) was named State Senator of the Year by BIO-NJ, the New Jersey chapter of the industry leading advocacy and support group Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO).
“As the ‘Medicine Chest of the World,’ New Jersey’s economy is intimately tied to a thriving biotech industry,” said Kyrillos. “It is a point of pride for all New Jerseyans that life saving innovations happen right here in our great state, and it is incumbent upon policymakers to do everything we can to nurture and encourage this industry. I’m honored to receive this award.”
The group also honored Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula (D-Franklin Twp.) and U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) as legislative leaders in biotech.
