NY1 morning anchor Pat Kiernan stole the show in The New York Times‘ story about the glitch that caused iPhone users to oversleep this weekend.
The bug, believed to be somehow associated with the new year, caused iPhone alarm failure in newer model devices. Apple representatives said everything should be fine as of today, but Mr. Kiernan encountered no problems on Saturday.
“Before I went to bed I set two iPhone alarms, and both completely failed to go off,” said Mr. Kiernan, adding that he uses the iPhone as his alarm clock when he travels. “Luckily I had an Android phone with me as a third backup alarm, and it woke me up in time for my news segment.”
Kudos to Nick Bilton for reaching out to him, and for allocating him four paragraphs of a ten-paragraph story.
