Senator Kirsten Gillibrand went on ‘The Daily Show’ and her and host Jon Stewart formed a mutual appreciation society, with Gillibrand singling out Stewart for his advocacy of the 9/11 Health Bill (he devoted an entire show to the subject) and Stewart praising Gillibrand for a productive first year that included not just Zadroga but the repeal of DADT and new rules on prescription drugs and drop-side cribs.
“You are like The Who in a hotel. You are just wrecking the joint,” the host told her.
Stewart also deflected Gillibrand’s appreciation of his Zadroga advocacy:
“I feel like we drove by a burning car on the highway and said, ‘Uhh, somebody should call that in.'”
