Saddle River Mayor Sam Raia issued a statement in anticipation of becoming the next GOP state chairman.
“During Assemblyman Jay Webber’s chairmanship, New Jersey Republicans have made impressive gains at all levels of government,” said Raia, who served as a member of Christie’s gubernatorial transition team on transportation, and as co-chairman of Bergen fundraising for Christie’s 2009 campaign.
“I am humbled to have been asked by the Governor to continue this important work. As we head into the 2011 election cycle, I am committed to championing our Republican principles and building on the successes of the past two years. I look forward to working with Governor Christie, County Chairmen, the State Committee men and women and most importantly our local leaders and grassroots volunteers, to further strengthen the Republican Party and take back the Legislature this year.”
