Freshman U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-Mount Laurel) assumed the oath of office today at the U.S. Capitol.
A former Eagles offensive lineman, the Burlington County-based congressman defeated John Adler in November.
“There is a lot of excitement down here, not as much as for inaugurals, but substantial,” said Burlington County Gop Chairman Bill Layton.
“I talked to Jon, and he’s really excited,” Layton added. “He’s ready to get to work. He can’t wait. That’s how the guy has been his whole life. He probably hasn’t stopped since he started.”
