SOTU Seating Buddies Finding Each Other

The State of the Union is tomorrow night, and added to the usual anticipation is a brand new drinking game, and a plan for legislators to sit amongst their colleagues from across the aisle.

Like the week before prom, this had led to a frantic search on the part of our federal officials to find a buddy to pair off with in order to display to the American people that Congress will never let an opportunity to pay lip service to bipartisanship go to waste.

So far, here is what he know about who will be accompanying whom for the big speech:

Senator Chuck Schumer: Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand: South Dakota Senator John Thune

Congressman Michael Grimm: New York Congressman Gregory Meeks

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney: Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert

Congressman Anthony Weiner: New York Congressman Peter King

Congressman Ed Towns: California Congressman Darrell Issa

Congressman Eliot Engel: Ohio Congressman Jean Schmidt

Congressman Joe Crowley: No Seating Buddy

We will update with more responses as they come in…
