If your name is Arianna Huffington and you run a website called The Huffington Post, you have been conditioned to believe you have a mandate that allows you to use your cell phone when mere mortals are not allowed to. One of these no-phone zones happens to be an airplane as it is taking off. The HuffPo head honcho pecked and tapped at her all-powerful BlackBerry, much to the annoyance of one Ellis Belodoff, Long Island man. He demanded to know if Huffington spoke English, which incidentally, she does (behind that yogurt-thick Greek accent, at least).
This wasn’t the best PR for the First Lady of Blogs, but (cue family-friendly movie trailer voice) she found a supporter… in the most unlikely… of places. Piers Morgan, who will take over for Larry King on CNN, took to The Twiiter to call this boorish anti-BlackBerry Long Islander “technophobic,” and sided with Arianna. Piers is your friend on this one!
That makes one, Arianna. Don’t use your phone when the captain tells you to turn it off. It’s rude.
Aaaaaand…. here’s what Twitter taught us this week.
