Ms. Kaminer was most recently the editor of the Arts & Leisure section. She previously did stints at  New York magazine (Times Magazine editor in chief Hugo Lindgren’s former home) as well as The New York Times Magazine, where she helped found both The Ethicist and The Way We Live Now columns.

“We are excited about the fresh new perspective and enthusiasm that Ariel will bring to the column,” said Mr. Lindgren in the Times press release. “As Times readers know, she is a terrific writer with an original voice and a wonderful sense of humor. She is not only familiar with the Ethicist column, she helped usher it into the world, and we feel very confident that it is being passed from one good set of hands to another.”
