Gilbert L. Wilson (D-Camden)

Democrat Gilbert L. “Whip” Wilson, of Camden, was first sworn into the New Jersey General Assembly on January 25, 2010, filling the unexpired term of Donald Norcross, who resigned to fill a vacancy in the New Jersey Senate.

Born March 17, 1947, Mr. Wilson received his Associate in Applied Sciences in law/criminal justice from Camden County College; and his Bachelor of Arts in law/criminal justice from Rowan University (then Glassboro State College). He served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969 and attained the rate of Sergeant.

Mr. Wilson and his wife, Martha, have six children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Wilson represents the 5th Legislative District, which includes the Camden County municipalities of Audubon, Barrington, Bellmawr, Brooklawn, Camden, Gloucester City, Haddon Heights, Hi-Nella, Lawnside, Magnolia, Mount Ephraim, Runnemede, Somerdale, Stratford and Woodlynne; and the Gloucester County municipalities Deptford, Westville, Woodbury and Woodbury Heights.
