Democrat Joseph Cryan, of Union Township, was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly on November 6, 2001. He was sworn-in as Assembly Majority Leader on January 12, 2010.
Born September 1, 1961, Mr. Cryan received his Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. He is an undersheriff with the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Cryan has two children: Meghan and John.
Mr. Cryan represents the 20th Legislative District, which includes the Union County municipalities of Elizabeth, Kenilworth, Roselle, and Union Township.
