We were excited when we received yesterday’s press release, announcing that Lindsay would be appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman to deliver a Top Ten list. Would she wear “That Dress”? Today’s press release, though, is a bit disappointing. Says a spokesperson for Letterman’s production company, Worldwide Pants:
“Lindsay Lohan will not be delivering a Top Ten list on Thursday’s LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN [sic], as had been previously announced. We made a mistake. Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay’s reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear.”
Could this “friend” have been a well-intentioned member of Lohan’s team? No, says Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane, who emailed the Observer: “Her team wasn’t aware until we heard someone tweeted it.” (Sloane didn’t respond to our question about whether we could see Lohan on our screens in the near future–but then, Lohan has a few other things to worry about.) We reached out to Late Show representatives, who were not available for comment on the show’s booking process–we’ll update if we hear from them. [Update: Late Show reps were unable to elaborate on record; Michael Lohan has announced himself as the faux “friend” booker, and says he did so with Lindsay’s cooperation.]
