David, from Harlem, first-time long-time, will get his own turn behind the microphone next week when he is slated to sub-in for WOR Morning Radio host John Gambling.
The guest hosting gig will be the first time that Gov. David Paterson has appeared in public since he left office on January 1, and, according to the station, he will make his first public comments about how Cuomo is doing as governor.
“When David Paterson co-hosted John’s show with WOR News Director Joe Bartlett back in December, he proved he’s got being a radio talk show host in his DNA,” said Jerry Crowley, general manager of WOR. “This time, he will handle the hosting duties by himself, and be able to speak out on our airwaves for the first time as a private citizen.”
Paterson has talked about a post-political career in radio, and next week’s show will give him his first chance to showcase his broadcast chops, unfettered by political considerations.
Paterson will guest-host Feb. 14 and 15, which means he won’t be there for Mayor Bloomberg’s weekly sitdown at the station on Friday, unfortunately.
