Pols backing the unions

TRENTON – Several politicians stood out of the rain, but in support of the unions under the Statehouse awning Friday during the pro-labor rally.

Topping the list was U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, (D-6), of Long Branch, who was joined by upper chamber state legislators, Sens. Linda Greenstein, (D-14), of Plainsboro; Ron Rice, Sr., (D-28), of Newark; and Barbara Buono (D-18), of Metuchen.

The lower chamber was well represented, with Assemblypersons Wayne DeAngelo and Dan Benson, (D-14), both of Hamilton; Bonnie Watson Coleman and Reed Gusciora, (D-15), of Ewing and Princeton; John McKeon, (D-27), of West Orange; Tom Giblin, (D-34), of Montclair; Valerie Vainieri Huttle, (D-37), of Englewood; and Nelson Albano (D1), of Vineland, in attendance.

None of the officials spoke publicly at the rally, leaving at least one of the state legislators scratching their head as they trudged back into the domed hall.
