Foursquare has been growing rapidly over the last year, recently passing six million users.
On the road to mainstream adoption, the presence of big celebrities, especially those with large social media followings, is a major accelerator.
So lets have a warm geolocating welcome for Shaq, who signed up for Foursquare this week. Big Aritstotle has over three million Twitter followers, all of whom got to see his check-in at Boston’s TD Garden.
Shaq left a tip, “when I dunk, stand up a shout, mayor n da house.” Technically a Boston sports fan named Texy is the mayor, with 35 check-ins compared to Shaq’s one, but who’s counting?
