A fight for collective bargaining rights will come to the steps of the Statehouse this Friday as a furious clan of Wisconsin workers travels to New Jersey.
Charles Wowkanech, New Jersey State AFL-CIO President, will be accompanied by hundreds of laborers, who have been battling their own governor to protect their union contracts from being cut in order to balance their state’s budget crisis .
According to Wowkanech, the workers want to support their New Jersey brethren in sending a message to Gov. Christie that he too must “bargain in good faith and not balance the budget on the backs of middle class families.”
“At this rally, we will stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity and speak out against the attacks on working families and assaults on collective bargaining rights which are taking place in Wisconsin and other states around the country,” said Wowkanech in a Sunday media release.
