NYC School’s Deputy Chancellor John White sent this memo to a handful of concerned parties, outlining some amendments to the State Senate bill looking to change teacher seniority rules that is at the heart of the UFT’s fight withCity Hall fight right now.
In short, the administration is saying teacher evaluations will now be part of the layoff process, rather than only the nine categories initially outlined in the bill. The amendments also speaks to much of what Governor Cuomo said he wanted his bill to do.
