The Bergen County Democratic Organization tonight officially became the Democratic Committee of Bergen County following a Hackensack huddle-up with elected officials and party poobahs.
“It’s a new time and a new day,” Lou Stelatto told PolitickerNJ.com. “The branding has started. We’re a committee of Democrats. This is not nuclear fusion, just our county committee.”
On the same day Gov. Chris Christie conducted a town hall in Nutley, the Bergen buzz was that Nutley – the lone Essex County contribution to the existing 36th – will no longer be in the district, swapped out for a bigger share of South Bergen.
“Everything is supposition at this point, but from what we’ve heard – again, nothing concrete – it looks as though Nutley is no longer in the 36th,” Stellato said.
The new Democratic Committee headquarters is located at 60 Bridge St.
