The gaming industry in New Jersey will be the focus Thursday of a forum at Rutgers University.
A panel of experts, including Jon Hanson, chairman of the state Gaming, Sports, and Entertainment Advisory Commission, Sen. Raymond Lesniak, (D-20), and Thomas Carver, former chairman of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, among others, will discuss bills signed by Gov. Chris Christie, as well as options including slot machines at the Meadowlands racetrack.
The forum will be held at the Paul Robeson Campus Center multipurpose room, 350 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Newark.
As part of Christie’s vision for gaming in the Garden State, he has proposed privatizing or closing the Monmouth Park and Meadowlands racetracks, or possibly turning the Meadowlands into an off-track wagering site.
