Federal and state officials will tour flooded areas of New Jersey today.
U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg, (D-N.J.), and Gov. Chris Christie will seek federal assistance as a result of the rains and flooding this week in New Jersey.
Lautenberg will seek a federal emergency disaster declaration for Passaic County and other towns hit hard by the rains this week.
After visiting Wayne Township this morning with Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik, Lautenberg will hold a press conference.
Gov. Chris Christie will tour flood sites in Pompton Lakes then hold a press conference this afternoon at the Passaic Valley Public Safety Academy and request federal emergency disaster assistance.
