TRENTON – The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee will hold a hearing today on a bill that would prohibit those under age 18 from using tanning facilities.
The bill aims to replace the current law on tanning and teens, which states that minors between ages 14 and 18 must have written authorization from a parent or legal guardian to receive tanning services.
The bill, S2119, would also require facilities to post signs that state nobody under age 18 could use the facility.
The primary sponsors are Loretta Weinberg, (D-37), Teaneck, and Robert Singer, (R-30), Jackson. The Assembly version is a2867.
